Luggage found, and MONA

Luggage found, and MONA

Back in Tasmania again, for a week before we go to Victoria and skiing. This is the second visit this year, the first one a few weeks ago was very much to catch with friends whereas this is to be tourists and visit more of the island. My luggage didn’t travel with me, for some reason Virgin decided to leave it behind then lost it so it only arrived a couple of hours ago.

In a strange way, I was looking toward to travelling wth virtually no baggage, as it’s amazing how little I actually need when faced with a lost bag. However there was also a great relief when my bag turned up and I had all my clothes/ electronics/ toiletries etc with me.

A few photographs from the last couple of days, visiting Falcon refuges, MONA the funky art gallery, and enjoying the waterfront of Hobart. There may have been a few cocktails in the hotel as well 😉

A visit to a raptor refuge was enlightening, showing the dangers to raptors in the wild form cars, electricity wires and most of all, loss of habitat. these little raptors are all badly injured, and will never be released to the wild. They will, however, lead a long life cared for in captivity.

More to come later, today we are off to St Helens via the East Coast, so a drive through areas of Tasmania I do not know on any way. Good food, good scenery, can’t go wrong.
