It’s done, in 45 minutes this time compared to 49 minutes last year, with much better weather so not really comparable. Still, I am happy to be a little faster and that’s the aim; just a little faster every year. Should I try the whole distance next year ?!

The light up here, on Varanus Island, is amazing at dawn and dusk. During the day, in 40C and flies and wind, it’s a harsh unforgiving light and glare. But that gentle glow at the change of day is inspiring.
