It was a strange feeling, walking into the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Queensland (UQ) for the first time. Déjà vu, it was so reminiscent of my visit to the same place at Strathclyde University a few years ago, and the day I walked through those doors almost exactly 39 years ago.
This isn’t Strathclyde ! There are pelicans and ibis and moorhens on the lake, and a green, spacious campus.
A few images of Brisbane from a long walk around a couple of the bridges yesterday during a cool, pleasant Queensland day, and a stroll last night to break the study focus.
Don’t be misled by the sunshine and brightness of the photographs, it’s rained three times since I woke up this morning, and not a gentle misty rain any of those times. My socks are wet right now from getting back to my office through the puddles.
