I am off to Brisbane for a week of intense work on my thesis. All the interviews are finished, and the online survey was closed off today. I’m staying in a small apartment by the river, in the middle of Brisbane and working at the University most days.
The Masters has been a long haul, started 5 years ago and finally it does feel like the last sprint to the end. The interim report is due at the end of this week in Brisbane, another two months and then …. graduation.
Next year will feel strange, without that presence and structure of studying. Whether I’ll have employment or not is another unknown, as the Santos potential redundancy is dragging on for months. However at this point I’m only thinking of getting to the end of the Masters, and Christmas. 2027 will be whatever happens.
Old school paper in folders with multi-coloured highlighter pens for identifying themes; and the view from my sitting room/kitchen. I won’t be too distracted, but photos of Brisbane another time.
