From country Tasmania, to big city Melbourne. Trams and people, skyscrapers and bustling shops, packed restaurants and art galleries, such a change and a bit of a shock after a peaceful and very rustic week.

A ferry to Williamstown, through the port the size of which I really hadn’t appreciated, followed by a walk looking at the wind blown expanse of Port Phillip Bay. A meal after all the walking in a cosy Italian, with superb food and a good bottle of wine.

A Rembrandt show at the gallery, the detail in the prints is amazing, such fine work in tiny detail. Only a couple of photographs, as they don’t do the images and skill justice in any way.

And the same day as the Rembrandt exhibition, a light show in the Botanic Gardens after dark. Food vans and mobile bars serving Prosecco on tap, with cool art works which owed just a little bit to Avatar. A lovely end to a couple of days although we were happy to get out of the drizzle which set in as we were walking around.
