Marrakech markets and palaces

Marrakech markets and palaces

Some photos from today’s wanderings, through the souk then a palace ( used in various films including James Bond) with a local guide, then dinner at the market in the evening.

Marrakech is amazing, somewhere you could easily lose yourself and so many little corners, streets, alleyways. Sure there is some hassle and there are scams around but so far we’ve found a cheerful rebuttal has got rid of the opportunists really easily. Taxi drivers are the same all over the world.

There are cats everywhere, street cats but not diseased or starving. People leave food and water out for them, and they aren’t scared at all, lots of allowing people to take photographs of them.

Dinner was an adventure, bustling market stalls ( we declined steamed sheep head) with charcoal and skewers of lamb or chicken and piles of couscous with barbecued vegetables. All followed by a beautiful fruit juice to finish then a tired wander back to the hotel.
