It’s been an amazingly wet and cold day here, and the rain coat has been very valuable. I’ve been soaked a couple of times, while doing the Medina tour then later on the way back from a lovely relaxing hammam experience. I knew Morocco could be cold this time of year, just hadn’t realised how wet !

As it’s a rainy Friday ( the Muslim day off), the Medina was so quiet, so while we didn’t get the full immersive experience we had a strangely peaceful experience. We visited stalls, looked at a pottery place, admired rugs, smelt the tannery and generally wandered around like obedient sheep following our guide.

Another display of detail and tiling and Muslim art, figures or animals are never represented rather the focus is pattern and colour and balance.

After a rather nice lunch in a beautiful riad, and a trip back to the hotel to dry out, Lisa and I headed back to the medina for a hammam experience. No photos but it was lovely, a massage then rinse off, body scrub then clay mask, then full wash off all in an intricately tiled space. The walk home in the rain didn’t destroy the mellow feeling from mint tea and massage.
