King’s Park light show

King’s Park light show

A cool, peaceful evening, walking around a winding path through King’s Park, looking at light sculptures. Ideal location for it, with the tall trees and views over the the city and the river. A couple of cups of mulled wine were very welcome although it really wasn’t a cold night.

It would be difficult to choose a favourite, although I keep coming back to the trees with light tendrils up the trees and down to the roots, that was graceful and emphasised the lines and strength of the tree trunks, branches and roots reaching into the ground. The reflections were lovely as well, and the perfect calm night with very little wind for that clear mirror-like view.

I just returned from another offshore trip, a week of many stairs, ladders and general physical movement while eating good, healthy food albeit rather more than usual. The walking training took a slight different direction but I do feel that my control walking down steps took a step change for the better after 7 days of continual practice. So this afternoon, after a very quiet morning of watching the Scotland Australia T20 match, I’ll be out for another local walk.
