A quiet, peaceful walk with Fiona, who is 10 and had no interest in walking all the way to Cape Pillar. We got as far as Wicked Winds then headed back for lunch at the hut. I was sad in a way not to try the whole walk, but I think it would have really tired me and tomorrow is a tough walk out to the bus. Also, there’s another, much shorter, optional walk out to a Cape tomorrow which I really want to complete.

The vegetation here is so diverse, today was a mixture of windblown plain, and cool temperate rain forest. Tomorrow is even more varied, with huge tree ferns and ancient huge trees.

I’m really happy with my walking, and so far have managed pretty much the same as my previous Three Capes, turning around at about the same point today. I have to keep reminding myself that making the same points and distance, after the past 7 1/2 years of MS, the AHSCT in Moscow, then endless rehab and training, is a win and so much more than just holding stationary.
