Day four and the walk completed

Day four and the walk completed

Just a few photographs from the most varied, diverse and beautiful day yet. I’m very tired, but in no pain other than stiff. I’ll go for a massage tomorrow morning before heading down to Amy and Yvonne in the afternoon for dinner with them and the rest of Amy’s family.

No major message or thoughts today except ‘it’s done’ and I walked out strongly after completing more of the walk than nearly 8 years ago. Today I got out to Cape Huoy, which I didn’t manage the first time. 38km over 4 days, with the generous packhorse assistance of Amy without whom I could not have attempted that walk.

A pre-sunrise start, walking up Mount Fortescue through temperate lush rainforest

Endless views of the sea, cliffs and headlands

Reaching Cape Huoy with Amy, then the last stretch to Fortescue Bay and swimming in the refreshing, if rather chilly for a West Australian, crystal clear water
