I had a lovely morning at the dog beach today, with a pleasant coolness to the air at 8am warming up, and still-warm water in which to swim. There was parking easily found, and not too many people. Autumn is a lovely time here, as the fierce heat drops off and the rains start. We had rain this week due to a cyclone far north of here and it was lovely to see clouds again. Everything is growing again, finally.
Oh the dogs … all breeds, sizes and shapes, having a lively time chasing balls and each other, into and out of the water. They were a really good reminder to live in the moment, on a peaceful Perth autumn morning.
Not my photographs as I didn’t have my phone with me but shows the beauty of the place well.

This morning’s swim was a slow swim, my last event of the year was the Coogee Jetty to Jetty swim last weekend. At 1.5km between giant inflatable duck markers, it’s very social and about participation rather than winning, certainly where I start close to the back of the pack.

My challenge this year is to keep swimming all through the winter 🥶
