Well it’s nearly finished, we are completely moved into the new house with only a motorbike and camper cover to come from the old house. There are boxes everywhere, but it’s now a functional home where we’ve cooked a few meals, relished a few glasses of wine, done a couple of loads of laundry, have working fast internet, and have three cats finding their favoured sleeping positions !

The sheer amount of stuff we had to move was shocking. We had removalists and some valued help from friends, but the accumulation of 17 years in one house is immense. So much of it, it’s just stuff. I won’t be moving again for a long time, but will be resisting the temptation to gather and accumulate. It’s all just more effort to maintain and manage extraneous bits and pieces. Adding something to the house which adds value to our lives is fine and will be happening for sure, but nothing that just gathers dust.

Talking of not moving much, the cats found snoozing spots quickly enough !
