Waterfalls, rainforests & snorkelling

A couple of days of exploring and swimming in lovely waterfalls in tropical rainforest, followed by snorkelling in warm water over coral reefs. I’ve been very happy with being able to cope with the heat, it’s very humid here as it’s wet season so we’ve been sweating hugely but managing some pretty short, but steep hikes.

A deserted amusement area and cafe at the base of the falls, no reason why until we realised there have been a number of fatalities with people climbing the falls. Our cautious decision to turn back from the viewpoint climb suddenly seemed very wise.

Warm water, lovely corals and an insanely fast speedboat to get to a beautiful tropical island. Heaps of people there however our guide knew his stuff and managed to get us everywhere just before the tourist surge.

And of course cocktails and funky coffees and fruit juices. The food and drinks have been excellent, and very reasonable prices once we leave the hotel !
