Preparation

Yesterday was the final preparation in terms of purchasing, with getting a pile of chemo head scarves and being shown how to wear them.

Strange how it helps to see the scarves, try them on and realise they’re pretty cool and I look ok in them. So I bought a variety, also there’s a beanie from my recent holiday in Tasmania and a glorious beanie with pompom crocheted by Freya – I’ve promised her a photo of me drinking vodka in Moscow wearing that beanie !

Not much more preparation to do

  • Books to buy from Amazon
  • Supermarket shopping for a mountain of cat food
  • Packing ๐Ÿ˜”
  • Drink coffee with people
  • I am sure I will have forgotten something, however Moscow is hardly Third World, I’m sure there will be shops.

    1. Hi Jennifer, thank you so much for allowing us to share your journey with you. Wishing you all the best (and I will be reading every step of the way),

    2. Nice Jen. Think you are right about Moscow not being 3rd world. May you could add one of the woolen hats with flaps over your ears for when it gets really cold (in comparison to Perth at least). Take care!

    3. You may already be en route to Moscow, but good luck Jennifer. Feeling nervous no doubt which is to be expected. There will be some tough times, and plenty of laughs too believe it or not. The others going through the treatment with you will be great support, and become life long friends by the time you leave. I look forward to reading your posts.

      1. Hi Glenn, well, I am here and the testing has started ! I don’t really like needles, not a phobia but a strong dislike but I get the feeling I’ll get over that pretty quickly here. The food has been OK so far, but I brought mustard and chilli sauce just in case.
