With a great lack of planning, I managed to double book the swim weekend with going to Bremer Bay to see the orcas in the Bremer Canyon. So the fact the swim was cancelled was a relief as I was so disappointed to miss it.
We overnighted last night in Katanning, a farming town on the way; a welcome stop and a very comfortable hotel in a town which is bribing in much needed money and customers by setting up an art trail. This is an initiative a lot of the wheatbelt towns are involved with, and it’s encouraging to see these small towns regain vibrancy.
A trendy hotel in an old flour mill, got to be fun and shorting the local community.
