Reading for this thesis, working through the painstaking Ethics approval process, a wild and windy Perth weekend; it’s a big change of pace compared to my normal activity-focussed spare time. It’s necessary to remind myself that I have made this choice, to study and research. The hiking and kayaking and weekends away will still be there in a few month’s time.

So I am reminding myself to focus on the end point of a completed Master’s, a house into which I am slowly settling and we are working out what needs to change, and the local walking, yoga and kayaking from the club.

My job, well the date by which we will all be given our options has moved out to the end of June. So that uncertainty is still present, and I still remind myself how privileged I am, that any option is something I can manage. A few months to focus on the thesis would be welcome.

The cover photograph is some new plants in the netted in cat area, not a huge job but grounds me in the house and the garden as they start to grow.
