The weather has varied between rain and sun, with lots of wind, for the two days I’ve been here in Glasgow. The changing light has been amazing, yesterday as the sun went down with thunder clouds was spectacular against the buildings and the Clyde.

Street art against gothic universities, great food ( for those who can afford it ) against visible obesity and smoking both prevalent in the streets. I’ve been eating very well, but I can afford the food and know that deep fried BBQ ribs is criminal in various ways.

City of contrasts indeed. The west end buildings, against some of the near-slums we drove through, show the differences here. Within a few hundred metres, there’s a Breitling and a Rolex shop then Poundstretchers and Lidl.
