I have my stem cells transplanted, yesterday, and that exhausted me far more than I had imagined. I'm basically allowed to wander around the floor with a mask on, but nothing else. This morning was rough, more to do with tiredness and a bout of constipation ( enough said) but the doctors got onto everything … Continue reading Now the plateau
Stem cell transplantation done !
Not much detail, as I'm more tired than I think I've ever been before. But .... it's done. Not pleasant but quick and finished well within 20 minutes. More photos to follow when I have the energy to even manage my phone.
Contemplation and serenity
After my stem cell treatment tomorrow about mid- day, when my frozen stem cells are rapidly defrosted then reinjected back into my body, I'll be going into isolation for approx 7 days. The approximation is due to the need for blood counts to rise and stabilise, as my stem cells reboot my immune system. I'm … Continue reading Contemplation and serenity
Rest day today

Autumn is arriving

Four days of chemo
I now have four days of chemo to come. All the required stem cells have been taken, and are now frozen safely awaiting reinjection once my immune system has been ablated. To be clear, my immune system needs to be partly destroyed, to allow the stem cells to assist with re-setting the immune system. By … Continue reading Four days of chemo
Don’t Quit
by John Greenleaf Whittier When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't … Continue reading Don’t Quit

It's going to be pyjamas from now on I think. They collected enough stem cells today that I can get … Continue reading Puffer fish day
